GP2Y0A21YK0F Sharp Distance Sensor (10 - 80 cm Distance)

The GP2Y0A21YK0F Sharp Distance Sensor measures distances between 10 cm and 80 cm using infrared light. It emits infrared light towards an obstacle and converts the reflected light into an analog voltage through its specialized receiver. The sensor's output values are based on measurements taken with white paper reflecting 90%, though measurements on gray paper reflecting 18% are also very close to these values.

The voltage output of the sensor is not linear with the measured distance; it is more accurately linear with 1 / X. This sensor is also suitable for use as a proximity sensor.
